Wish I Was Here...

Today is the launch party of Janice Horton's great new book, Reaching for the Stars, and I'm taking part in her 'Wish I was here' blog tour. So in the spirit of the theme: Wish I was in Venice. One of my all time favourite destinations, I love the romance, the mystery and history of this unique place. From the water taxi along the length of the grand canal, and the 16th century buildings, to getting lost in the meandering narrow lanes, I'd happily be there right now!

Meantime, while I'm dreaming of Venice, here's the blurb for Janice's book.

Reaching for the Stars

Scottish celebrity chef Finn McDuff is media stalked and disillusioned after winning his third star and losing his third wife. He decides he’s had enough of all the food campaigns, the TV cookery shows, the constant frenzy surrounding his private life and, after giving up all his accolades and closing down his restaurant, he disappears.

With the enfant terrible of the kitchen missing, two rival newspapers, having lost their media meal ticket, compete against each other to whip up further public curiosity in the missing chef. Love him or hate him, everyone is out looking for Chef McDuff. Who will find him first and whose side will you be on...?

Sounds great! You can buy Janice's book at Amazon (UK) or Amazon (US)

Enjoy the launch, Janice
Rosemary

That is a fabulous photo and description! I have never been to Venice but I must admit it has always appealled to me as a romantic destination.
An excellent 'Wish I Was Here...' choice Rosemary - and thank you for your good wishes for Reaching for the Stars.
Love, Janice xx

Reaching For The Stars sounds fantastic. Best of luck with the launch party.

I would love to go to Venice. My eldest daughter loved it there. Such a beautiful picture.

Looks like a wonderful place to visit. I've thought I'd like to visit on many occasions. The architecture is amazing.

Hi Joanna - you would love it. So much atmosphere to absorb and so much to see. Hope you get there one day.

Hello Melanie - the architecture really is fantastic, and the inside of churches are like art galleries with all the famous paintings!

Brilliant plot idea - and relevant at the moment, too.

We landed at Venice in the summer, but had to go straight on to our boat (cruise), so never got to see it properly. We're determined to go back.

You could join me on the Orient Express, Rosemary, and we could go there together!

Lovely picture Rosemary. Venice is also one of my favourite places - and the one I chose for my Wish I was Here with Janice! Every time I go to Venice I discover a new part of it. Could spend a lot of time there.

You definitely should go back, Frances, and soak up the atmosphere!

Hi Jane - me too!

Now that's the best idea I've heard for ages, Chris!

Thanks, Anita - you're right about finding new parts each time. Going over to read yours!
