Writers' and Artists' Yearbook Competition

Writers' & Artists' Yearbook 2011The Writers' and Artists' Yearbook is one of the 'bibles' for all matters to do with writing. An invaluable source book for listings of magazines, publishers and agents for over 100 years. Each year, it also contains excellent articles and advice from big name authors - from writing a synopsis to the submission letter. There is also a dedicated issue for children's writers.

The publisher, A&C Black, is running a short story competition with the theme of 'compulsion'. Closing date is February 14th and length is 2,000 words maximum. See full details on the Writers' and Artists' website.

Good luck!

Hmmm... compulsion. That's interesting - and a good prize. Thanks for highlighting it Rosemary.

Ah, the hours I've spent poring over issues of this book. As you say, it really is the bible for writers and artists. Strangely, though, they make it available to consult free online at http://www.writersandartists.co.uk/
(Sorry, I don't know how to do links in comments.)
