Arrival of Winter

We've had our first fall of snow the last couple of days and today the sun is shining, making it a lovely winter scene here, although I took the above photo last year. The birds are fighting over the hanging containers of food and the clever little robin is waiting beneath one of them for the crumbs dislodged by the longer beaked birds. All very distracting while trying to write!

I'm now forging ahead with the Victorian novella I was hoping to get onto kindle before the end of the year. Mischief at Mulberry Manor is set around twelfth night but I won't talk about it too much in case I don't get it published in time for January. Also managing to keep up the word count on the contemporary novel, and enjoying the new habit of writing a little of it each day before going near the Internet.

Meanwhile I'll leave you with this great quote:

'Let us not look back in anger, nor forward in fear, but around in awareness.'
James Thurber

Snow! It is currently 7 degrees and warm sunshine down here in the south of england! Make a snow man for me.

Lovely picture - what a gorgeous colour the sky is. We have sunshine and showers at the moment and some of that rain looks decidedly flakey!
I love that quote :-) x

Great photo, Romy, wish I was there! Today in central Texas it's raining and cool. But decidedly still autumn.

Your MMM Victorian sounds mysterious and funny too. I admire your steel in not going near the internet till you've written on your WIP.

All the best, talk later,

Hi Wendy - can't believe it's so warm down there! Must admit I love this cold snap.

Thanks, Teresa. We very seldom get skies that blue!

Hi Erin - thanks for commenting! I can imagine Texas will be rather higher temps than here.

Love the title of your Victorian novella. I have a fondness for Mulberries.

A beautiful snowy scene, Rosemary. I'm, enjoying the thought of the robin gathering up the crumbs!

Good luck with the writing. It's going so well, I'm sure you'll reach your targets. It's such a good idea to start writing before going anywhere near the Internet. When I do that, I'm always much more focused and write far more words.

I like the quote very much and it's absolutely spot-on. Have a lovely day with that gorgeous scenery to inspire you. x

Lovely photo! I wish we'd get a little dusting in London.

Happy writing. The novella sounds very interesting!

You know I completely forgot about that, Mary!

Many thanks for your lovely comment, Joanna! Snow is being washed away today, sadly.

As long as it's not icy, Talli!
